What’s on the Menu?

duotoneTake a moment, pause and reflect: what results are you getting from the way you are doing life?

It’s said every system is perfectly designed to get the results it gets. This is a powerful truth for people and organisations.

A system is simply a group of interdependent parts that interact to form an integrated whole. That system can be the organisation you belong to: business, church or charity but it can also be your life, comprised as it maybe of marriage, family, friendship, work and community.

When that system is your life, then failure, when you don’t get the results you want, is simply feedback that the way you’re doing life is failing not that you are a failure.

Many of us are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, frustration, fatigue, disappointment, disrupted sleep and unhealthy eating patterns. I’m convinced these “results” which massively impact our marriages, families and workplaces can be changed by changing the system that is the way we are doing life. By living intentionally in pursuit of better outcomes.  It’s said the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

LW3 encourages us to take a holistic view of what it means to be human and a holistic approach to living. To take a look at our life,  take responsibility for the results we are getting from the way we’re doing life and where necessary make adjustments.

We triangulate that journey with three simple questions:

  • What would it look like for me to live well?

  • What would it look like for me to love well?

  • What would it look like for me to lead well?

These are not menu options for life where we get to choose one. Although that’s what many of us do.

Live well, love well and lead well represents a healthy system where to live well is to love well and to lead well. Where to love well is to live well and to lead well. And to lead well is to live well and to love well.

In our experience most of us know what we ought to do. But instead of making changes we make excuses. As a result it often takes a crisis to convince us to take action.

Whilst we love to help in a crisis - you are never in a mess if you have a plan - our ultimate goal is to help those we work with to develop resiliency and choose a way of doing life, love and leadership that is healthy and happy.
